ほとりから徒歩10分ほどの場所に、子どもの本専門店 メリーゴーランド京都さんがあります。
子どもの本専門とは言いつつ、大人も十分に読みごたえのある本も沢山あり、プレゼントにも
良い雑貨もあり、店長鈴木潤さんの引き出しの多さを感じられるとても素敵な本屋さんです。
またギャラリーも併設されているので、作家さんの素敵な作品に出会うことができます。
ほとりの2階のライブラリーには、鈴木さんの書かれた本があります。

どんな本選びをされているのか、京都でどんな暮らしをされているのかがよくわかり、

There is a children’s book store, Merry-Go-Round Kyoto, about a 10-minute walk from hotori.
Although it specializes in children’s books, it also has a lot of books that are worth reading for adults
as well as stylish goods that make good gifts.
It also has a gallery where you can see the wonderful works of artists.
At hotori, we have a library on the second floor and there is a book written by Mrs. Jun Suzuki,
the owner of the Merry-Go-Round Kyoto.
If you read “The Story of a Small Bookstore that Sells Stories” written by her,
you will understand how this bookstore came to be, what kind of books she chooses,
and why she came to live in Kyoto.
You can actually feel the love and affection that Mrs. Suzuki put into her bookstore.
