今年もほとりの中庭にやってきてくれました。
おかえり～！
と思わず声をかけてしまいました。
光の加減か、去年より胴の部分が深い青色で輝いているようにみえました。
黒い羽根でひらひらと神秘的に舞い、神様の使いといわれる神様とんぼ。
ほとりを見守ってくれているようにも感じます。
God’s dragonfly has come to the courtyard of hotori again this year.

The God Dragonfly, with its black wings fluttering mysteriously, is said to be a messenger of the gods.
I feel as if they are watching over hotori.
そして今週末はいよいよ祇園祭
なんと一年って早いのでしょう。
ほとりから一歩足を踏みだせば、あちこちで祇園祭。
汗をぶるぶるかきながら、一つ一つ手作業で鉾を立てる職人さん達のお姿には毎年心打たれます。
コロナで中止になった二年前、京都らしさを奪われたあの夏のことを思い出すと、
この職人さん達の汗にはもっともっと価値を感じます。
This weekend is finally the Gion Festival. How fast a year goes by!
You can enjoy the Gion Festival here and there, just one step away from hotori.
Every year, we are moved by the sight of the craftspeople who, sweating profusely, hand-craft the floats one by one.
When we think back to that summer two years ago, when it was cancelled in Covid and deprived of its Kyoto-ness, we feel that the sweat of the craftspeople is worth much more.
