お酒の神様で有名な松尾大社。嵐山エリアの松尾山のふもとにあり、とても清々しい神社です。
夏の暑い時期に訪れると、神様を慰め訪れる方々の罪穢れを払うため、境内中に飾られた
目にも耳にも楽しい風鈴を楽しむ事が出来ます。6月1日から始まった「風鈴祈願」は9月3日までです。
松尾大社は「日本第一酒造神」として日本全国の醸造家にとっては、とても大切な神社なのです。境内には大きな酒樽が5段に重ねられて奉納されています。目の前でみると本当に迫力があります。
境内を右奥へと進むと、松風苑三庭への入り口があり、そこを抜けると神泉・亀の井があります。
「よみがえりの水」とも呼ばれる神泉でお酒の仕込みに使うと、酒が腐らなくなるといわれ
味噌、醤油、酢などを含めた醸造家の方々や地元住民がお水を汲みにこられるそうです。
松尾大社随一のパワースポットと言われる霊亀の滝の前の鳥居では、滝の流れる音を聞きながら
とても心地良く参拝することができました。
その他、境内の本殿そばには、夫婦和合、恋愛成就の相生の松があります。
見どころの多い、松尾大社は、桜の季節、山吹の季節、風鈴の季節、紅葉の季節、お酒の美味しい季節
など四季を通じて楽しめる神社です。
Matsuo Taisha Shrine is famous for the God of Sake. Located at the foot of Mt. Matsuo
in the Arashiyama area, it is a very refreshing shrine.
The “Wind Bell Prayer” began on June 1 and will end on September 3.
Visitors during the hot summer months can enjoy the pleasing to the eye and ear wind chimes.
The sounds of wind chimes are believed to comfort the gods and to drive away the sins and impurities of visitors.
Matsuo Taisha Shrine is very important to Japanese brewers as the “First Sake Brewing God of Japan.
In the precincts of the shrine, large sake barrels are stacked five high and dedicated to the shrine.
It is always a powerful sight to see.
Proceeding to the far-right side of the shrine grounds, visitors will find the entrance to the Japanese
garden, Shofu-en. Beside the entrance, you can find the God spring, “Turtle Well”.
It is also called “reviving water,” and is said to prevent sake from spoiling when used for brewing sake.
At the torii gate in front of Reiki-no-taki Waterfall, which is said to be the most powerful spot
in Matsuo Taisha, visitors could worship comfortably while listening to the sound of the flowing waterfall.
In addition, there is a pine tree in front of the main shrine building, which is believed to be a symbol
of harmony between husband and wife and of the fulfillment of love.
Matsuo Shrine, with its many attractions, you can enjoy throughout the four seasons,
including cherry blossom season, yamabuki season, wind chime season, autumn foliage season,
and the season of delicious sake.
