今年の京都はすごい人。
紅葉の名所はどこも大混雑と聞いているので、今年は少し穴場の紅葉を見に。
京都は小さな町なので、自転車が本当に便利です。
ほとりの近くにレンタサイクルのできる自転車やさんがありますので
京都サイクリング観光、とってもオススメです。
京都まちなかエリアの北寄り、御所から近いのは相国寺さん。
「相国寺裏方丈庭園」は京都市指定の文化財。
「開山堂庭園」や国指定重要文化財の法堂とともに、この秋も期間限定で特別公開されていました。
外国人にはまだあまり知られていないようで、人もまばら。
白砂の石庭とゆるやかに流れをつくる苔を足元に、紅葉が燃えるように赤く色づいていました。
そしてこちらは相国寺さんの無料エリア。
承天閣美術館へ続く小道へ入り、門を曲がると、息を飲む美しい紅葉庭園が広がります。
こちらはさらに人もまばらで、ゆっくりゆっくり鑑賞できます。
今年の紅葉はいまいちやろなぁという声を聞いていましたが、相国寺さんの紅葉は今年も見事な色づきでした。

I heard that all the famous places for autumn leaves are very crowded, so this year I went to see the autumn leaves in a little hole in the ground.
Kyoto is a small town, so bicycles are really convenient.
There are bicycle shops near Hotori where you can rent bicycles.
Cycling in Kyoto is highly recommended.
In the northern part of the downtown area of Kyoto, close to the Gosho is Shokokuji Temple.
The Shokokuji Ura-Hojo Garden is a Kyoto City-designated cultural asset.
It was open to the public for a limited time this autumn, along with the Kaisando-Teien and the Hodo Hall, a nationally designated important cultural property.
The garden is not well known to foreigners and is sparsely populated.
The white-sand stone garden and gently flowing mosses were at the foot of the garden, and the autumn leaves were turning a fiery red colour.
And this is the free area of Shokokuji Temple.
Enter the path leading to the Jotenkaku Art Museum and turn the gate to find a breathtakingly beautiful autumn leaf garden.
This area is even more sparsely populated, so you can take your time and admire the autumn foliage at your leisure.
I had heard people say that the autumn leaves were not so good this year, but the autumn colours at Shokokuji were magnificent again this year.
