梅雨の花と言えば紫陽花。個人的にとても好きな花です。
あじさい寺として有名な宇治の三室戸寺に行ってみました。
ほとりからは京阪電車を利用して約1時間程度で行くことが出来ます。
宇治駅の一駅手前ですので、参拝後は宇治エリアの散策も良いかと思います。
三室戸駅から20分ほど歩くと気持ちの良い緑の山に囲まれ、
ホーホケキョとウグイスがとてもきれいな声で鳴いています。
とてものどかな雰囲気と綺麗な空気。思わず深呼吸したくなります。
西国十番三室戸寺 の看板のある門をくぐると右手にアジサイ園が広がっています。
早くあのエリアに行きたい！と思いつつ、まずは三室堂に向かい参拝します。
石段を上がりきると一番に鮮やかなあじさいの花手水が目に飛び込みます。
誰もが足を止めて写真を撮りたくなる、とても華やかな場所です。
境内には狛犬ならぬ、狛蛇・狛兎・狛牛の像があり、
それぞれの御利益を求めて参拝者が列をなして触っていました。
私も、願いが通じますようにと狛兎の前の球の中にある卵（型の石）を立ててみました。
沢山の蓮鉢が本堂の前に並んでいました。
参拝時はまだ一つも咲いていませんでしたが、100種類の蓮が咲くそうです。
行った日は、“あいにくの快晴”でした。
お散歩は晴れの日が気持ち良いですが、雨の日に来たいなと思いました。
カンカン照りの太陽の元の紫陽花も美しいのですが、
きっと雨降りのアジサイの方が輝いてるだろうなと思いつつ、
色とりどりの様々な種類のアジサイを楽しみました。
丁度今週は本堂の前に並んでいる蓮鉢の蓮が咲き始めた様です。
梅雨の時期、一番美しいあじさいと蓮を楽しみに三室戸寺に行かれてみてはいかがでしょうか。
The hydrangea is the flower of the rainy season. I personally love this flower. I visited Mimurotoji temple in Uji, which is famous as a hydrangea temple.
It takes about one hour to get there from hotori by Keihan train and walk. It is one stop before Uji Station, so it would be nice to stroll around the Uji area after visiting the temple.
The temple is surrounded by pleasant green mountains, where Japanese bush warblers are singing in a very beautiful voice. The peaceful atmosphere and clean air made me want to take a deep breath.
Passing through the gate with the signboard of Mimuroto-ji temple, I could see a hydrangea garden on the right hand. I couldn’t wait to get to that area!
As I walked up the stone steps, the first thing that caught my eye is the vivid hydrangea flower handbasin. It is a gorgeous place that makes everyone want to stop and take pictures.
There are statues of guardian snake, guardian rabbit and guardian cow and visitors lined up to touch them, hoping for good luck from each of them. I also set up an egg-shaped stone in the sphere in front of the guardian rabbit, hoping that my wish would be granted.
Many lotus pots were lined up in front of the main hall. When I visited the temple, none of them were in bloom yet.
“Unfortunately”, the day I went there was “a fine day. It may sound strange! It is pleasant to go for a walk on a sunny day, but for the first time I wanted to go to somewhere on a rainy day. I thought that the hydrangeas under the bright sunshine were beautiful, but they would be more brilliant in the rain. I enjoyed the many different kinds of colorful hydrangeas.
This week, the lotuses in the lotus pots lining the front of the main hall seem to have started blooming. Why not visit Mimuroto-ji temple to enjoy the most beautiful hydrangeas and lotuses during the rainy season?
