春に何度も訪れているお寺があります。
桜散る哲学の道を歩いて行く、法然院さんの春季特別拝観。
心洗われるお寺というのが誰にもあると思うのですが、私にとって法然院はそういう場所。
椿を眺め、苔を愛で、方丈のお庭で散る桜と鳥の声を楽しむ。
そしていちばん奥の茶室の格子窓から臨むお庭がまた格別に美しくて
お庭の手水の水音に耳を傾けると、まさに心が洗われているような心地になるのです。
法然院は常時公開されていません。
この贅沢な景色と空気を堪能できるのは、春と秋の数日間だけ。
そして方丈の間には、その期間だけ狩野元信の障壁画が展示されます。
こんなに近くで、元信おじいちゃんの直筆を拝見できるなんて。
眼福あふれる法然院。ぜひ訪れてみてください。
Honen-in Temple, a temple that can be visited only for a few days in spring and fall.
It is located near the Philosopher’s Path where cherry blossoms are in full bloom.
Honen-in Temple is famous for its camellias, and visitors can enjoy the wonderful scenery of moss and camellias.
The tea room in this temple is my favorite. Looking at the garden from here and listening to the sound of birds and water, I feel as if my heart is being refreshed.
Although it is only open for a short period of time, if you visit Kyoto during the cherry blossom season, be sure to stop by Honen-in Temple.
原谷苑を訪れた皆さんが口々に言う「ここはまるで桃源郷」。
一度行ってみたいと思いながら、バスを乗り継がなければいけないというハードルを超えるのに数年かかってしまいました。
まるで幻の秘境のような書き方ですが、ほとりからでも小一時間で着いてしまいます。
コンパクトシティ、京都。
そして原谷苑の小さな門をくぐり坂をのぼると…
ほんとだ、これはまるで桃源郷…！
桜のピンクを背に、赤、白、黄色、桃色…色とりどりに咲き乱れる花、花、花。
どこを向いても、いくら歩いても、視界いっぱいに花、花、花。
初めて目にするリアル「花園」は圧巻でした。
たくさんの花々に囲まれて堂々と枝を広げる桜がまた、野性味たっぷりで美しいこと。
あまりに幻想的で、夢のような光景。
その日の晩は、目を瞑ると原谷苑の光景がまぶたに浮かんでくるほどでした。
原谷苑の一般公開は毎年３月末から４月末頃までの期間限定。
桜の種類がとても多いので、早咲きから遅咲きの最後の最後まで桜を楽しめます。
この春のうちにもう一度行きたいなぁ。

It may be a bit of a trip, about an hour by bus from hotori, but the flower garden is so beautiful that it can be called Kyoto’s utopia.
This garden is the only place where you can view not only cherry blossoms but also colorful blooming flowers all at once.
Open to the public only from the end of March to the end of April.
You can enjoy both early and late blooming cherry blossoms.
