先月、京都のひだり上にある世界遺産の仁和寺に行ってまいりました。
春は他の観光地より一番遅いタイミングで咲く御室桜が有名です。
平安時代888年に創建されたその敷地内には、国宝、重要文化財、登録有形文化財、の建物や仏像、
屏風などお宝が山の様にあふれており、まさに敷地全体が宝物の様なお寺なのです
私が伺ったのはゴールデンウィークの土曜日、意外にも参拝客がほとんどいないひっそりした日でした。
御室桜は新緑の葉が生き生きとしていて、さくらんぼの可愛い実をつけていました。
その足元には沢山の蒲公英が綿毛になり風に吹かれて揺れていて、なんとも穏やかな空間なのです。
ふわふわの綿毛が飛ばされそうになるのをのんびり眺めているととても癒されました。
春も終わり、夏がそろそろ近づいてきたのかなあと季節の移り変わりを想像する
心穏やかになれる午後、そこはとてもとても平和でした。
御所庭園内、宸殿南庭には勅使門を前に広大な白砂が広がり、
その中には左近の桜・右近の橘が植えられています。
七代目小川治兵衛に作庭されたその大きさと手入れの行き届いた庭は、さすが国指定名勝だけあります。
また、将棋の竜王戦の対局が行われた宸殿には、対局のパネル等が展示されていました。
金堂の前の道では、とても素敵な光景を目にしました。
静々としかしながらきびきびと若手僧侶達が胸に掃除道具のバケツやほうきを抱えながら、
列をなして御影堂に向かっていかれるのですが、途中金堂の正面のタイミングでは順番に頭を下げられます。
見ていてとても気持ちの良い行進でした。
参拝後、お土産にお薦めのお店が仁和寺から徒歩約10分程の所にあります。
住宅街の中にあるいと達さん、ご主人は老舗和菓子店で修業を積んでこられたそうです。
見た目が可愛いだけではなく、素材にもこだわった美味しさです。
クマの可愛い最中、優しいパステルカラーのもちもちした包み餅、抹茶に合いそうな上生菓子。
どれにしようかお店の中でかなり悩んでしまうほどです。
自分用に、お土産用に、いかがでしょうか。
I recently visited Ninna-ji Temple, a World Heritage Site.
In spring, the temple is famous for its Omuro cherry blossoms,
which bloom at the latest timing compared to other sakura spots.
The temple was founded in 888 during the Heian period (794-1185),
and its grounds are filled with treasures such as buildings, Buddhist statues, and screens
that are National Treasures, Important Cultural Properties, and Registered Tangible Cultural Properties.
I visited on a Saturday during Golden Week, a quiet day with surprisingly few visitors.
The Omuro-zakura cherry trees were alive with fresh green leaves and lovely cherry fruits.
At their feet, many dandelions were all fluffed up and swaying in the wind,
and the air was so peaceful that it was very soothing to leisurely watch the fluffy fluff almost blow away.
It was a peaceful afternoon, imagining the changing of the seasons,
wondering if spring has come to an end and summer is almost there.
In the south garden of the Imperial Household Garden, a vast expanse of white sand stretches out
in front of the Imperial Gate, in which Sakon-no Sakura and Ukon-no Tachibana are planted.
The garden was created by Jihei Ogawa VII, and its size and well-maintained garden are
indeed a nationally designated place of scenic beauty.
In the Shinden Hall, where the Shogi (Japanese chess) championship game Ryuoh-sen was played,
panels of the game were displayed.
On the path in front of the Kon-do main hall, I saw a wonderful sight!
The young monks were quietly but briskly moving in a line toward the Mie-do Hall,
carrying cleaning buckets and brooms on their chests. It was a very pleasant procession to watch.
There is a Japanese sweets shop about a 10-minute walk from Ninna-ji Temple
Located in a residential area, the owner of “Itotatsu” trained at a long-established Japanese confectionery.
Not only do the sweets look cute, but they are also delicious and made with the finest ingredients.
There are cute bear-shaped monaka, soft pastel-colored mochi (rice cakes),
and fresh sweets that go well with matcha green tea.
You will have a hard time deciding which one to choose. Please try them as souvenirs.
