先日、久しぶりに嵐山へ。（ほとりから阪急電車で片道30分程）
京都市内も十分に山に囲まれた場所だと思っていましたが、
嵐山に行くと本当に手が届きそうな山々に囲まれ、
そこから繋がる川や竹林、寺社仏閣、美術館、ホテルや民家でさえどれも風情があり美しく、
スーッと心洗われる気がしました。
阪急嵐山駅から、嵐山公園、渡月橋、野々宮神社、竹林の小径という自然が美しい名所をぬけ、
さらに山の小路を上り、たどり着いたのは、
化野念仏寺（あだしのねんぶつじ）とその周辺の嵯峨鳥居本（さがとりいもと）。
この地区には、瓦屋根の民家や茅葺屋根の農家が建ち並んでいました。
嵐山の近くにこういう風景があるなんて。
レトロな町並みが突然目の前に現れたような、歩いていてワクワクするような町並みでした。
The other day, we visited Arashiyama for the first time in a while.
It takes about 30 minutes one way by Hankyu train.
Although Kyoto city was surrounded by enough mountains, when we went to Arashiyama, we felt like we were surrounded by more mountains that were almost within my reach, and it was soothing.
The river, bamboo grove, temples and shrines, hotels and museums and even private houses connected to the river are all very tasteful and beautiful.
From Hankyu Arashiyama Station, we passed through Arashiyama Park, Togetsukyo Bridge, Nonomiya Shrine, and the bamboo grove path, all of which are beautiful natural spots, and further up the mountain path, we arrived at the Adashino Nenbutsuji Temple and the surrounding Saga Torimoto area.
The area was lined with houses with tiled roofs and farmhouses with thatched roofs.
We never thought to see this kind of scenery near Arashiyama.
It was as if a retro cityscape had suddenly appeared in front of us, and it was exciting to walk around.
