毎年ふしぎな感覚になるのは、紅葉の色づきがピークになる頃の京都。
街はクリスマスの雰囲気がただよいはじめ、紅葉を見に行くお寺への道中
店先にキラキラとしたクリスマス飾り。
和と洋のくっきりとしたコントラストに、これも京都らしいなぁと感じたりします。
とはいえ、ほとりもクリスマスのお支度を。
大きなツリーは飾れませんので、控えめに優しく微笑むサンタとトナカイのコケシを。
お玄関に飾るリース、今年もお花の教室で手習いです。
ふだんの和花のお稽古では歩みの遅い私。
入れては直され、入れては直され…ですが、リースのお稽古は「ちょっとしたイベント」扱いのようで
どんな不細工な配置で飾り付けをしても「ええなぁ。可愛らしいわぁ。」と、褒めちぎっていただけます。
手直しが入らないなら、それはそれで開き直って作業に没頭。
用意していただいた生の草木からは、水分をたっぷり含み生き生きとした良い香り。
リースを編む手の先から、草木の生命力のおすそ分けをいただける気がして、心が元気になってきます。
完成した「褒めちぎられリース」、ほとりのお玄関でお披露目。
日を追うごとに形も香りも変化していきますが、クリスマスまで手を入れながら楽しみたいと思います。

Every year when the color of the autumn leaves peaks, I feel a little strange.
The atmosphere of Christmas is just right in the city, and on the way to the temple to see the autumn leaves, the clear contrast between Japanese and Western makes me feel that autumn in Kyoto is deepening.
However, we also prepare for Christmas.
I can’t decorate a big tree, so I put Santa and reindeer kokeshi dolls with a modest and gentle smile.
Christmas wreaths hanging at the entrance are handmade every year.
Time to make a wreath while smelling the good scent of raw leaves and feeling the vitality of the leaves transmitted from your hands.
Even after it is completed, I think it will change little by little over time, I would like to enjoy the time until Christmas while making small adjustments.
When you pass by, please bring your face closer and enjoy the scent of natural plants.
