雨、雨、雨、、大雨、、、ですね。
そういえばあんなに賑やかだったほとり前のセミ達はどこへ行ってしまったんでしょう。
こうも雨音しか聞こえないと、心配になってきました。
せっかくのお盆休みが、この大雨とコロナ禍で何もできなかったという方も少なくないのではないかと思います。
京都のお盆といえば
「息苦しいほどの蒸し暑さの中、我慢して浴衣をきて五山の送り火を見に行く」
が風物詩かと思いますが、今年は
「こーーーんなつべたいお盆知らんえ」
と京都人の祖母もびっくりするくらいです。
ほとり前の鴨川も、先週末から増水、濁流で荒れていましたが、
今朝様子を見に行くとほんの少し落ち着いていました。
“鴨川の川床“も落ち着きはらっていて寂しい気持ちになりました…。
まだまだ雨も続くようで油断はできませんが、
来週にはまた、スキッっとした青い夏空、
そして煩いほどのセミの声がここから望めますように。
Raining, raining, raining, and raining hard.
We wonder where the cicadas in front of Hotori have gone, they were so lively.
All we can hear is the sound of rain, and we are starting to worry.
We are sure there are many people who couldn’t do anything during their “Bon” vacations due to the heavy rain and COVID-19 disaster.
Speaking of “Bon” in Kyoto, it is a time when people put up with the stifling heat and humidity and wear yukata to go see the Gozan Okuribi (Bonfires).
But this year, even my grandmother, who is from Kyoto, was surprised and said,
“I’ve never known such a chilly Obon.”
Kamo River in front of Hotori has been swollen and muddy since last weekend.
When I went to check on it this morning, it had calmed down a little.
It looks like the rain will continue, so we can’t be too careful, but I hope that next week we will be able to enjoy the crisp blue summer sky and the annoying sound of cicadas from here again!
